Metech International (SGX:V3M), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Biovalor Innovations, entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Zhejiang Kesheng Feed to develop a bioconversion system, according to a Wednesday filing to the Singapore stock exchange.

Under the pact, the two parties will collaborate on the joint research, development, and commercialization of a Black Soldier Fly bioconversion system, which converts organic food waste into high-value insect protein and amino acids.

The project is expected to boost the company's food waste business by allowing the group to develop a downstream application for its food waste processing capabilities, converting organic food waste into higher-value insect protein and amino acids for use in animal feed and pet food.
