Prudential cancels 0.79 million shares and buys back a further 0.79 million on Oct, 7 2026

Prudential plc has announced that it cancelled a total of 787,614 ordinary shares on Oct, 7 2026, following repurchases made on Oct, 5 2026. The cancellations reduced the group’s outstanding share count to 2,477,199,114 from 2,477,986,728 previously.

On the same day, the insurer also repurchased 794,808 additional shares on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging between GBP 8.782 and GBP 9.104 per share, for a combined consideration of about GBP 7.1 million. All of these shares are earmarked for cancellation.

Of the Oct, 7 repurchases, 437,448 shares were bought under the authority granted at the 2025 annual general meeting (AGM) held on May, 14 2025, while 357,360 shares were acquired under the renewed mandate approved at the 2026 AGM on May, 28 2026.

Following the latest transactions, Prudential has repurchased 127.99 million shares (4.91 per cent of shares then in issue) under its 2025 AGM mandate and 8.57 million shares (0.34 per cent) under the 2026 AGM authorisation. The company is restricted from issuing new shares or disposing of treasury shares until Nov, 6 2026.
