Residents gathered to enjoy a vibrant cultural showcase as the "Rhythm of the Three Yan" community benefit performance, hosted by Forward Street and co-organized by West Street Community, took center stage, bringing neighbors together for a warm and lively celebration of local talent.
"Being able to watch such a wonderful performance right at our doorstep, performed by our own neighbors, feels so heartwarming," one attendee remarked.
The event featured local arts enthusiasts who poured their passion and sincerity into a down-to-earth, heartfelt cultural feast that filled the community with warmth and brought a growing sense of happiness to residents.
Without lavish stage decorations, the performance still delivered the most genuine expressions of artistry. The show opened tenderly with a male-female duet "Standing Together," its gentle melody conveying the warm bonds of neighborhood companionship. Next came the fan dance "Tea Fragrance in Night Rain," with graceful and nimble movements, colorful fans fluttering like a misty rain painting slowly unfolding. The dance "Remember Our Home" followed, its soft and touching steps and melodious tune expressing deep nostalgia and drawing neighbors closer together.
Prairie anthems, folk tunes, and patriotic classics rang out one after another. "Returning to the Grassland" and "Mongolian" resonated with bold and vast energy, expressing the sincere hearts of the grassland people. "E'man" was melodious and lingering. Classic pieces such as "I Sing a Hymn to the Motherland," "Kissing the Motherland," and "Five-Star Red Flag" stirred the audience with their passionate and heartfelt singing, prompting spectators to hum along softly as applause erupted again and again.
"It's all our own neighbors performing on stage, so down-to-earth and incredibly warm! Life keeps getting better and more comfortable these days," said Auntie Wang, a local resident who watched with great delight and offered repeated praise. Many residents brought their own small stools early, chatting while enjoying the show, with laughter and joy echoing throughout the venue.
All performers were local arts enthusiasts from the community who rehearsed diligently in their spare time, using sincere performances to showcase the happy lives of grassroots residents. It is understood that since the beginning of this year, Forward Street has continued to bring cultural benefit activities to city squares, community parks, and other "doorstep" locations, building cultural platforms through regular public welfare performances, allowing ordinary residents to transform from "audience members" into "stars of the stage." Residents write, direct, and perform their own acts, telling stories of happiness from their own lives, constantly stimulating grassroots cultural vitality and injecting warm and lasting cultural strength into community governance.
