Concord New Energy (ASX: 00182) announced on October 9 that it has successfully completed a US$400 million financing close for its U.S. clean energy and digital infrastructure project portfolio.

The transaction brought together multiple leading financial institutions, providing debt financing, preferred equity financing, and letter of credit facilities to support Concord New Energy's broader growth strategy in the United States.

Headquartered in Singapore and dual-listed on the Singapore Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Concord New Energy has over 20 years of experience in the clean energy industry, with capabilities spanning solar, energy storage, wind power, and digital infrastructure.

The group's operations have expanded into Europe, Asia, and North America, with a global installed capacity of approximately 5 gigawatts (GW).

Concord New Energy's entry into the U.S. market marks a new phase in the group's long-term strategy — developing and operating sustainable energy and infrastructure projects in key global markets.

The Chisme project, located in Texas, comprises 215MW of solar capacity and a 147MW/358MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), making it Concord New Energy's first utility-scale project in the United States.

First Citizens Bank, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and Associated Bank led the provision of US$310 million in debt and letter of credit financing for the project. In addition, Goldman Sachs Alternatives provided US$90 million in preferred equity financing for the project.

This financing enables Concord New Energy to access diversified institutional capital sources for its clean energy and digital infrastructure project portfolio.

The financing close represents a significant achievement in Concord New Energy's process of establishing a U.S. platform, fully demonstrating the company's execution capability across various financing structures and its ability to attract leading financial institutions as counterparties in the rapidly evolving U.S. energy and infrastructure market.

Mike Luo, Vice President of Concord New Energy, stated: "Completing the US$400 million financing close is an important milestone in establishing Concord New Energy's presence in the U.S. market. Currently, driven by new industrial loads, manufacturing, and AI companies, global electricity demand is growing rapidly. We will continue to be committed to developing and deploying the power infrastructure needed to meet this demand in a sustainable manner."

Mike Lorusso, Head of Energy Finance at First Citizens Bank, stated: "First Citizens Bank is honored to serve as the lead arranger for the Chisme project and to support Concord New Energy's expansion into the U.S. market. As demand for reliable, scalable power infrastructure continues to grow, projects combining solar generation with battery storage are playing an increasingly important role in meeting evolving energy needs. This transaction reflects First Citizens Bank's commitment to providing tailored financing solutions that help developers bring critical energy infrastructure projects to market."

Vikas Agrawal, Managing Director and Co-Head of Energy Transition Climate Credit at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, stated: "We are pleased to support Concord New Energy's first utility-scale project in the United States through our climate credit strategy. We served as both the sole operating-period lender and preferred equity investor, enabling us to underwrite the project holistically — arranging debt and preferred equity capital around a unified assessment of solar and storage cash flows. This innovative approach provided Concord New Energy with the certainty and speed needed to advance project construction on schedule and establish its U.S. platform, reflecting the tailored solutions our climate credit strategy aims to deliver. Concord New Energy's track record as a global developer and operator makes it a strong strategic partner. We look forward to continuing to deploy flexible capital in pursuit of robust risk-adjusted returns and environmental benefits."
