SanegeneBio has reportedly submitted a listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on a confidential basis, with the goal of raising several hundred million US dollars through an IPO next year, according to reports. The company has appointed Morgan Stanley and CICC as joint sponsors.

Founded in 2021, SanegeneBio is focused on developing RNA interference (RNAi) therapies targeting autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular diseases, obesity and metabolic disorders. SanegeneBio states that RNAi technology can reversibly silence disease-causing genes. The company has R&D centers in Boston, Shanghai and Suzhou, and has so far initiated clinical trials for four experimental drugs.

SanegeneBio completed a US$110 million Series B financing round in December 2025, with participation from an international sovereign fund, SBP GROUP (01177) and Lake Bleu Capital, as well as a strategic investment from Eli Lilly. Existing shareholder Hillhouse Venture Capital and others also continued their support. In November 2025, the company completed a strategic collaboration with Eli Lilly on RNAi drug development strategy.
